The Service Professionals Association of New Zealand is a fledgling body, set up in June 2010, with the aim of representing the front of house professionals of New Zealand, in all aspects of hospitality - restaurant waiters, bar workers, baristas, food & beverage managers, all those who are passionate about hospitality as a career choice. 

We encourage all to join who have an interest in promoting hospitality as an exciting career choice and who want to foster the standards of the industry, as well as network with like minded people in the industry.

Membership is FREE!

Regular events include Wine Tastings, Cocktail Workshops and Seminars on industry related topics.  These are all free to members. We are also able to offer Judging training for Regional and National Culinary Fares.

The Association welcomes new members from all sectors of the Service Industry and we also encourage your ideas and involvement in our regular meetings.

Our Objectives

To promote the Hospitality industry as a professional career choice. 

Act as a voice and point of reference for media, government and education representing Hospitality Service Professionals.

Improved networking of service professionals with sharing of knowledge & passion.

Showcase the positive aspects of the industry including friendship, travel, lifestyle, opportunities and career advancement worldwide. 

Provide a dedicated website and blog with links to other relevant agencies, member profiles, social pages, notice boards etc. 

Work alongside other professional’s agencies to support and promote the Hospitality Industry both nationally and internationally i.e. RANZ, HANZ, HSI, Guild of Sommeliers’, Chefs association. 

To provide an interface between education and industry.

Encourage all levels and styles of hospitality front of house staff to enter competitions to enhance service standards.

To keep competition standards up to date with modern industry trends and be a source of trained judges for said competitions.
